Recalling a pack one of his fellow Scouts once lugged up the steep trail to Lake Blanche, John Bytheway says, "He had things in his pack that were too heavy, that he didn't need, that weight him down, and that made the hike a lot harder than it needed to be."

That's the way it is in life, too. Many of us carry around things that make the journey harder than it needs to be- things like a poor self image, a tendency to feel sorry for ourselves, and unresolved sins.

In this entertaining and inspiring talk, Brother Bytheway suggests we get rid of the extra weight, so we'll have room to carry the things we really need- a capacity to love, a desire to pray, and an affection for the scriptures.
