Jessie Clark Funk

Jessie Clark Funk grew up in Provo, Utah where she was involved in voice and dance lessons, teaching voice and dance, and her family.

At fourteen she signed a recording contract with Skreem Records, an independent affiliate label of Sony Records, located in Orlando Florida. After four months of “doing what ‘the world’ said would make me happy,” she realized that maybe fame and notoriety weren't all they were cracked up to be. She gave up her contract and moved back to Utah.

Jessie spent the fall and winter of 2002/2003 on a 26 state tour as a cast member of the national touring company of the hit Broadway show Footloose. She was a featured vocalist on the 2003 EFY CD Look and Live singing "Our Savior’s Love." Her recording of this favorite Primary song was played often during devotionals during the EFY conferences around the country. She also began working regularly as a studio vocalist with over 100 studio credits to her name. She attended Utah Valley State College where she was a multimedia major emphasizing in sound engineering and film.

Jessie’s debut inspirational CD, Clay In His Hands, was released in August 2003. Jessie's upbeat, positive outlook and her inspiring CD have been extremely well received, including four prestigious Pearl Awards from the Faith Centered Music Association and a Listeners Choice Award from the LDS Booksellers Association. Her second CD is currently in production with a tentative release in May 2005.

She married songwriter, arranger, producer and recording engineer Jim Funk May of 2004. Jessie and Jim make their home in Bountiful Utah, where they work together operating Funk’s Place, a music production and recording studio.

She loves recording and performing music that touches people, music that is an instrument to our Father in Heaven; she especially loves performing and speaking to the youth.

The Funks are expecting their first child, a girl, June of 2005.
