Tammy Simister Robinson was singing at the tender age of only two and a half, and was soon winning talent contests. She was active in choirs and performing groups through junior high and high school. She graduated from Weber State University with a degree in Music Education, taught in the public schools for 4 years at the junior high level. After her marriage to Ray she began a private teaching career.

Since 1988 Tammy has been a featured singer on albums produced by Prime Recordings, Excel Entertainment, Deseret Book/Shadow Mountain, the LDS Church Educational System, and others. Her second solo album "The Color of Hope" was named Inspirational Album of the Year by the FCMA.

In addition to her exceptional vocal talents, Tammy has distinguished herself as a gifted songwriter, particularly sacred and inspirational songs. Her 1998 submission May I Serve Thee earned the Award of Distinction in the Relief Society Song Contest and was broadcast worldwide at the 1998 and 2002 annual LDS General Women's Conferences. An abridged version of May I Serve Thee was printed in the March 2004 Ensign Magazine.

Her brand new CD, “In Thy Hands,” was released April 2004. “In Thy Hands” introduces 11 of Tammy’s new songs, including five songs receiving special recognition by the LDS Church Song Submission judges. Tammy lives in Midvale, Utah with her husband and their two children.
