Update to version 6.1 Setup Error... Patch |
Microsoft .net
framework 1.1 update "Setup Error..."
issued on July 10th, this update causes a load error with the 2005 and 2006
Libraries. The error is caused when the load procedure checks for add-on
features. Currently the only add-on is the PDA Libraries "PDA Partner." Those
with the LDS PDA Library will have this feature in their Tools menu.
2006 LDS Library users
We have decided to turn off the above referenced feature for the time being so you can continue to receive the important updates from Microsoft and still run the Library software. We are providing a download of a new "LDSLibapp.exe" file to replace your existing one. Once this is downloaded and moved into the appropriate folder the Library will function properly. Click on the link below to download this file then move this file into your "C:\program files\lds media\LDS Library\6.0" folder and replace the existing file. If you find a later (6.1, 6.1.2) version folder check for this file in their instead. If it exists, replace it with the downloaded file.
PDA Library Users:
If you wish to continue using the PDA Partner function to export titles out of Library for your PDA you should not download this fix. If you do install the fix your PDA partner function will be disabled. However, if you click on it you will get an error and you may get kicked out of the program. Do not use this feature after installing the new file.
2005 LDS Library users
The 2005 software will not be supported with any further updates. If you wish to continue using the program and install the Microsoft security update you must upgrade to the 2006 software. We cannot maintain this level of support for earlier versions. You can uninstall the MS update to remove the error. This is done from Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel. Look for the title: "Microsoft .net framework 1.1 (hotfix) (kb928366). After it is removed you must also change the Automatic Update setting in the Control Panel to a manual update setting.
Here is a link for the 2005 version 5.2.0 update.
